Here is where when I finally have some calm time I will put some personal stuff. Including things about my home towns

Volleyball
I play indoor as a right side hitter and outside on the right. Unfortunately I did not take up this wonderful sport until moving to the United States and becoming a professor. In this time, I have come to learn the need in this game for team play, graceful gymnast-like movements, powerful hitting, and aerobic fitness that comes together to create one of the best sporting activities there is. The team I have captained in the Northern New Jersey League has won numerous championships and while still a beginner, I hope that my efforts will steadily improve my game. Places I play:

Politics
People, especially academics seem to like to fit people into a box. I have been accused on numerous occasions of being a right-winger, a left-wing socialist and by some really silly American's who do not understand the term a "liberal" as an insult (however those people did not seem to know about John Start Mill or John Locke but seemed to get their ideas from Radio shows or a childish reading of Ayn Rand). It seems having an Israeli passport makes me an evil Fascist in some people's eyes. Along those lines my complex views about the use of force by the US in the Middle East - lots of grey there - clearly makes me a bad person in lots of people's eyes. On the other hand having lived on a kibbutz and believing that a government needs to ensure a basic level of education and health services for all its children clearly makes me a dangerous socialist. I guess when I have time I will have to try and explain myself here so that people stop labeling me in silly ways.
